PHOTOS: Residents heave sigh of relief as dead body of notorious kidnapper arrives Imo
A crowd got an eyeful as the body of notorious kidnap kingpin, Henry Chibueze alias Vampire, arrived Imo state on Thursday afternoon.
Police had revealed it killed Vampire and arrested five others about 1am Thursday morning in Rivers state.
Vampire, notorious for his daredevil activities in Imo, was arrested in 2015 following the kidnap of the wife of a government official.
He was paraded by the DSS before the state Governor in 2015, and admitted to carrying out several kidnappings in the state and beyond before his arrest.
He was in prison custody and awaiting trial when members of his gang stormed the Imo State High Court to set him free on January 27.
Imo state governor, Charles Okorocha, had placed a N5million bounty for information that would lead to his arrest at the time.
Curious and excited residents thronged the Imo state Police headquarters to catch a glimpse of the killed criminal and his arrested accomplices.
