Heartbreaking! Girl, 16, repeatedly raped by doctor dies after childbirth
A medical doctor attached to the Federal Medical Center, Bida, Niger State, has allegedly raped and impregnated a teenage girl, Fatima Yusuf, which resulted in her untimely death.
The 16-year-old died after childbirth after she was repeatedly raped and impregnated by the doctor.
According to a report, the said doctor repeatedly raped the late Fatima while the latter was taking care of her mother who was on admission in the hospital for a severe case of diabetes.
A family source quoted the deceased as telling the family that it all began on a day the doctor invited her to his room while her mother was asleep.
The said doctor, the source said, pretended that he was trying to advise Fatima only to seize the opportunity to forcibly have carnal knowledge of her. The secret act, she said, continued until Fatima’s mother was discharged from the hospital.
The family source said when other family members discovered that Fatima was pregnant, they asked her who the father of the baby was and she named the said doctor, who vehemently denied having any sexual relationship with her.
The situation was said to have caused the Emir to order that a paternity test be conducted on the pregnancy. But while the Federal Medical Centre complied with the directive, it has been reluctant to release the result of the test, a situation that led to the decision to conduct another paternity test in a hospital outside the state.
Unfortunately, while this was going on, Fatima died some time after she was delivered of a baby boy at the family house in Bida.
