Defilement: New video shows Baba Ijesha admitting guilt as police plans to release him

Barely 24 hours after a report claiming the Lagos police may release Nollywood actor Olanrewaju ‘Baba Ijesha’ Omiyinka over lack of evidence to prove a case of defilement against him, the actor has been seen in a new video admitting guilt and pleading for forgiveness.

The video was released by Iyabo Ojo who has been calling for the prosecution of the actor who was arrested on Thursday, April 22, 2021, for allegedly defiling a minor at the home of comedian Damilola Adekoya aka Princess.

In the footage shared on Instagram, the embattled actor was seen pleading and admitting that he was wrong to have molested the girl.

“I know it is wrong to molest her, please forgive” he begged Princess and others in the room.

Plan by the police to release the actor sparked uproar on the internet on Thursday, with many Nigerians arguing that the new footage released by Iyabo Ojo and the CCTV footage which captured the moment he was allegedly molesting the teenager should be enough to prosecute Baba Ijesha.
