3 secondary school teachers kidnapped in Edo regain freedom
Three secondary school teachers abducted in Edo state have regained their freedom.
The three teachers of Ebomisi Secondary School, in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of the state, were reportedly kidnapped by suspected herdsmen on Monday.
They were on their way home, along with three other female teachers, when they were whisked away.
Their female counterparts were let go.
The kidnappers demanded N10million each for their victims.
The abduction of the unnamed teachers enraged students, who abandoned classes and took to the Benin-Akure express road in protest on Tuesday.
The state Commissioner of Police, Haliru Gwandu confirmed the release of the teachers to newsmen on Thursday.
It could not be ascertained if they were released after the payment of the N30m ransom demanded by the kidnappers.
