Six suspected armed robbers arrested in Imo
Six suspected armed robbers allegedly terrorising residents of Imo State communities have been arrested.
Operatives of the Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad in the state were said to have recovered guns and a bag that contained India hemp from the suspects.
Police boss in the state, Dasuki Galadanchi said the suspects, whose identities are given as Onyebuchi Uruaku, 62; Micheal Chigozie, 20; Ifeanyi Uchenna, 21; Ugochukwu Ejiniogu, 28; and Chinonso Obiakor, 32, were arrested on Sunday.
Galadanchi added that two locally-made pistols, two locally-made revolver pistols with three live unexpended cartridges, one ammunition and a bag of weed suspected to be India hemp were found in their possession.
“We have redoubled efforts in fighting criminality in Imo State. This is ember and we have closed all the gaps,” the police boss said.
