Ministerial nominees: Names of those who made Buhari’s partial list

President Muhammadu Buhari sent the most anticipated list to the Senate last week.

Senate President Bukola Saraki announced it on Tuesday. The list contains 21 names, and is not complete yet.

Nigeria’s Constitution says there must be at least a minister from each state of the federation, and one from the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) in Abuja.

The Senate said Buhari promised to send the remaining names “shortly.”

The nominees will be screened next Tuesday.

Here’s the list:

  • All Progressives Congress spokesperson, Lai Mohammed…he’s from Kwara State
  • Former Rivers State governor Chibuike Amaechi
  • Former Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola
  • Former guber aspirant in Kebbi State, Abubakar Malami
  • Former defence chief Abdurahman Dambazzau is from Kano
  • Former Taraba State governorship candidate, Aisha Alhassan
  • Former CPC guber candidate in Oyo state, Adebayo Shittu
  • Former Akwa-Ibom senator, Udo Udoma
  • Veteran educator and “land issues expert” Ibrahim Jibril is from
  • Head of Jigawa State pension board, Suleiman Adamu
  • Former Anambra senator, Chris Ngige
  • Former Ogun State finance commissioner, Kemi Adeosun
  • Former Niger State deputy governor, Ahmed Ibeto
  • Retire pilot and former CPC Senator, Hadi Sirika, is from Katsina
  • Former PDP chairman, Audu Ogbeh, is from Benue State
  • Former Ebonyi governor, Ogbonnaya Onu
  • NNPC group managing director, Ibeh kachikwu, is on the list. He’s from Delta State
  • Amina Ibrahim is former senior aide to President Goodluck Jonathan. She’s from Kaduna
  • Solomon Dalong, who happens to be former Plateau reps hopeful and aide to Ex-PDP Chairman, Solomon Lar
  • Former Ekiti governor, Kayode Fayemi
  • Edo State born Dr. Osagie Ehaneri
