Kanu Nwankwo Shares Secrets To His Successful Career In New Book

If you don’t remember Kanu Nwankwo from his days playing forward on the Nigerian national team, you will remember him from the famous Peak Milk advert that resonated with millions of Nigerians.

Before retiring, Kanu won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup medals and two African Player of the Year awards amongst others. He is one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and an Olympic Gold Medal. He made the third-most substitute appearances in Premier League history, appearing from the bench 118 times, and is regarded as one of the best players in African football history.

Despite his congenital heart defect, which would have altered the careers of many, Kanu pushed through and made a full recovery. In a recently published book, Success Is Not Served A La Carte, Kanu ascribed his full recovery to God and his will-power saying, “I refused to go down no matter what. I kept going up. But not by my power o, it’s God and prayers that sustained me”.
