Amid reports of a rift between political leader Bola Tinubu and Lagos State Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, both men shared a table at the launch of Jim Ovia’s memoir titled, “Africa Rise and Shine” at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, today.

Tinubu, reports say, is throwing his weight behind Jide Sanwo-Olu for the ruling party’s governorship ticket in 2019 poll.

Leaders within the party have reportedly been making moves to reconcile Ambode and Tinubu, but their efforts have so far yielded no positive result.

Ambode, during today’s event, is quoted to have said as he was called to speak: “I did not prepare any speech and I have been caught unawares. Who am I my to speak right after the Jagaban (Tinubu) has spoken?”

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, also a key member of the ruling party, also sat at the table.

Both Ambode and Tinubu were also pictured exchanging a brief handshake at the event.
