Grandmother, 54, gives birth to granddaughter

Tracey Thompson gave birth to her grandchild on Wednesday after acting as a surrogate for her daughter and son-in-law.
The couple had struggled with infertility for three years and endured three miscarriages.
The baby was delivered at the Medical Centre of Plano, Texas.
According to the hospital, the grandmother who is 7 years past menopause offered to be a surrogate after the couple had suffered through three miscarriages.
“Her and her husband had gone through so much – the miscarriages and fertility,” Thompson said, “I didn’t want to disappoint her”..
