The Vice President of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo says the Federal Government spares no expense in ensuring that school pupils in the National Home-Grown School Feeding Program receive adequate nutrients and balanced diet.
He disclosed that the FG feeds school pupils in the country with 594 cattles, 138,000 chickens, 6.8 million eggs and 83 metric tonnes of fish every week.
The VP made the statement during a presentation at the University of Lagos 50th Convocation on Monday. He said that more than 9.3 million school children in 49,937 public primary schools are enrolled in the program across 26 states in the country.
“There is also a deworming program attached to the school feeding program,” he said.
