Lagos Police arrest 147 suspected hoodlums in statewide security sweep
Lagos State Police Command has arrested 147 suspected hoodlums in a statewide operation aimed at tackling criminal activities across the state.
The crackdown, conducted under the ongoing security initiative codenamed “Operation Ko Si Aye,” entered its third phase on Saturday, July 19. The exercise was led by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Operations and covered multiple locations across Lagos.
According to security sources, the operation began at about 6:00 a.m. as part of the command’s sustained efforts to improve public safety and flush out suspected criminals from different parts of the state.
During the operation, officers apprehended 147 suspects and recovered exhibits believed to be linked to criminal activities, although details of the items recovered were not disclosed.
The suspects remain in police custody for profiling and further investigation. Police said they will be arraigned in court once investigations are concluded.
