Edo witch doctors lift curses on victims of human trafficking
The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has forced witch doctors in Edo State to revoke oaths and curses placed on victims of human trafficking.
Many victims of human trafficking are usually made to swear to oaths, with some of their body parts collected as collateral to make them pay back the money used to sponsor them.
The victims were set free by the native doctors who besieged the palace on Friday.
Oba Ewuare II also laid a curse on human traffickers and those aiding and abetting human trafficking in the state.
He warned native doctors aiding traffickers though the use of black magic to desist from the act or face the wrath of the gods.
The monarch declared that the place was only interested in the development and progress of citizens of the state.
