Missing police officer in Rivers State

Loveday Pepple, a police officer at the Rivers State police command headquarters, was allegedly kidnapped on November 8, 2023, by unknown gunmen who drove a taxi in Port Harcourt.

Reports indicate that he was abducted on his way home from work. The policeman recorded a voice note in his native language, informing friends and colleagues about the incident. The voice note was also shared on a police platform by the kidnapped officer.

In the voice note, he was heard saying, “I may have entered a ‘one-chance’ motor. They are taking me to the Oyibo axis. Please try to help me out, especially Oyigbo Division.”

A source claimed that after five days, the victim dropped the voice message, stating that no action had been taken by the Police force, revealing that the authorities were quiet on the matter.

However, when a correspondent from Neusroom reached out to the Police Public Relations Officer of Rivers State, Grace Woyengikuro Iringe-Koko, she said that she was not aware of the kidnapping of a police officer in the state.
