Edo: Man disappears after allegedly stabbing lover to death
A man, identified as Nosa Ajegunle, has been declared wanted for allegedly stabbing his lover to death in Benin City, Edo state.
Nosa was said to have fled the house after committing the crime.
He was accused of stabbing Miss Nwana Asuquo to death with a bottle, which was recovered at the crime scene.
Residents of Igede off Erediauwa Street, were thrown into mourning after finding Miss Asuquo lying in a pool of her blood.
The victim’s sister, Eunice Asuquo, said she became suspicious when Nosa hurriedly left the apartment, prompting her to rush into the house.
“When I came out, I saw the man, Nosa entering his vehicle,” she said tearfully.
“I asked him what was the matter but he ignored me and entered his vehicle and drove off. I entered inside the house only to find my sister on the floor, dead.”
Other neighbours, who expressed shock at the incident, said there were no signs of quarrel between Nosa and Eunice that could have warranted the crime.
Nwana’s body had been deposited at the mortuary and police have launched a manhunt for the alleged killer.
