Bye bye Ahmed-rica: Texas clock kid relocates to Qatar
Ahmed Mohamed, the Texas teenager who was arrested over a “bomb-like” homemade clock last month said he’s moving to Qatar.
Ahmed made the announcement Tuesday after meeting with U.S. President Barack Obama the evening before.
Ahmed was one of 300 people invited as a guest to the White House’s Astronomy Night where he rubbed shoulders with several prestigious figures of the scientific community.
Less than 24 hours after meeting Obama, Ahmed’s family announced they had accepted a science education grant from the Qatar Foundation and would be relocating to the oil-rich Middle Eastern country next week.
