Born in Ubima, Rivers State, Rotimi Amaechi is a top Nigerian political figure and is currently serving as the Minister of Transportation in the current administration.

Raised in Diobu, Port Harcourt, Rotimi has a lengthy and fulfilling political career spanning over 25 years. In his early political career, he bagged positions at the local government level, before moving up the ladder in 1992 when he was appointed as the Special Assistant to the then-Deputy Governor of Rivers State, Peter Odili, who believed in his potential as a budding political figure.

Rotimi’s rise in power and status continued after he secured positions in the House of Assembly in the late 90s through to the early 2000s and successfully became the Governor of Rivers State in 2007.
