Joseph Chinotimba, 65, is a lawmaker in the Zimbabwean parliament. He and his wife won the longest kiss competition held in Zimbabwe on Sunday.

Chinotimba and his wife won after kissing for 10 minutes and 17 seconds.

The first runner-up, Mr and Mrs Mbundure, clocked up 5 minutes and 23 seconds while Mr Jabulani Maphosa and Shyline Hama placed third after kissing for 2 minutes 35 seconds.

The competition was organised by the Book of African Records “to encourage Zimbabweans to break a record that will be published in the upcoming Book of African Records Zimbabwe Edition”, Herald reports.

The contest was open to couples who are legally married and required the couples to kiss continuously with lips touching at all times.

The winning couple won $1,000 and DSTV subscription for a year.
