Young housewife poisons rival’s 8-month-old baby for always insulting her
Police in Niger State arrested a 20-year-old housewife Zulac Kabiru, for allegedly killing her eight-month-old stepdaughter on September 9, 2018.
Zulac, a resident at Danauta village in the Mariga LGA, allegedly fed the infant with a locally made insecticide known as ‘Ota-PiaPia’.
Zulac had reportedly been having a serious issue with her co-wife Rukaiya, and their husband, Kabiru Labbo, had reported the case to the police.
The suspect claimed that she decided to poison her eight-month-old baby to cause the second wife pain for always insulting her.
“I warned my husband against marrying another wife, but he didn’t listen. The second wife was in the habit of insulting and assaulting me at all times and one day I decided to poison her eight-month-old daughter to increase her sorrow; so that she will learn how to respect her superiors in the family,” she is quoted as saying.
“Before my husband married her, I kicked against the move. We have been living in peace but when she came, she divided the family. My husband gave her more attention and since then our family has been in shambles,” Zulac said.
The police spokesperson in Niger State, Muhammad Abubakar, said Zulac would be charged to court after a full investigation is done.
