WATCH: Nigerians react to imminent minimum wage increase
November 7, 2018
Since President Buhari received the report of the tripartite committee on a new minimum wage on Tuesday, there have been mixed reactions on the development.
Reports on Tuesday said Buhari had agreed to pay the Nigeria Labour Congress’ N30,000 wage demand, hence the cancellation of a planned nationwide strike.
It would be the first time the wage for workers has been reviewed since 2011.
While many have hailed the imminent increase as a welcome development, some have opined that it may lead to rise in Nigerian market prices for goods and transportation.
