“War on drugs an epic fail” – Jay Z says in New York Times op-ed

Usually not one to “offend his political connects” as he said on his 2009 track “Death of Autotune”, hip hop legend Jay Z speaks on his country’s war on drugs and labels it “an epic fail that targets black people for doing the same thing that white Americans get rich for.”

In a poignant and very innovative four-minute animated video, Jay Z narrates the progression of the war on drugs from the Ronald Reagan era, when he himself was a drug dealing teenager, to present day drug laws that enable rich white businessmen to exploit legislation at the expense of poor black youths.
