Saraki, other political bigwigs storm INEC HQ to protest against Osun governorship election result
Senate President Bukola Saraki has on Friday (today) led a procession of political bigwigs to the INEC headquarters in Abuja in protest against the result of the governorship election in Osun State.
The protesters, including Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, Sokoto State governor Aminu Tambuwal, and Senator Dino Melaye, are clamouring for the declaration of PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke as winner of the election.
INEC had declared APC candidate Gboyega Oyetola winner of the hotly contested election in September. Adeleke had said he would go to court as he believed his mandate was stolen.
The protesters, according to reports, are wearing T-shirts which read: “the Nigeria Police and INEC are arms of the All Progressives Congress.”
