April 5, 2018
Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris has reinstated police commissioner in Kogi, Ali Janga.
Janga had been dismissed by the police boss for allowing suspected political thugs escape from custody last Wednesday.
The suspects, some of whom accused Senator Melaye of being their godfather, have now been rearrested.
Police spokesperson in the state, ASP William Aya, said Janga was recalled to office on Tuesday, April 3.
Aya said that Janga was reinstated after meeting the one-week ultimatum given to him by the IG to re-arrest the suspects who escaped from police custody.
The suspects would be arraigned in court soon.
