PDP, Labour Party, others allege over-voting in Ekiti presidential result, call for cancellation
The agents of the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party and Action Alliance at the 2023 presidential election results collation centre in Abuja have called for the review and cancellation of presidential election result from Ekiti state over what they described as over-voting.
Dino Melaye of the PDP said the election result announced on Sunday, February 27, 2023, showed that there was over-voting in the state where the APC won with 201,194 votes.
His position was corroborated by the agents of the Labour Party and Action Alliance.
APC’s agent, however, asked the other parties to file a petition.
“We cannot go back to what has been declared by the commission,” the APC agent said.
The INEC chairman, however, claimed the figures claimed by Melaye was inaccurate.
INEC said the figures declared by the collation officer was 315,058 accredited voters.
Yakub, however, promised to look into the complaints.
