Nigeria sinks lower in FIFA rankings, now 70th in the world

World football governing body, FIFA, released its latest ranking of international teams on Thursday and it had bad news for soccer fans in Nigeria.
The Super Eagles, ranked 61st in June dropped 9 places in the current ratings.
Now ranked 70th in the world, the team is the 16th best placed in Africa.
Algeria, in the same World cup qualifying group in Nigeria, is the continent’s best placed team.
Cameroon’s Indomitable Lions are 53rd in the world and seventh in Africa. For Zambia, they are the 88th best team in the world.
The next world ranking will be published in August..
