Nigeria: Landlord stabbed to death after stopping student from banging girlfriend
A student of the Abia State Polytechnic is on the run after allegedly killing his landlord.
Abel was reportedly told by the landlord girls were not allowed to pass the night with male friends at the facility in Immaculate area of Aba, the state capital.
Ladies were also not allowed in the facility once the day turns dark.
After Abel allegedly flouted the rule, the landlord reportedly busted into the student’s room to enforce the rule. Abel and a lady were on the bed, naked, sweating. They were in the steaming act of love-making.
“The landlord barged into the student’s room where he met both the lady and the student naked,” Punch quoted a source.
“Instead of excusing himself, he attacked the student with punches. The lady quickly grabbed a wrapper and ran out of the room into another student’s room in the lodge.”
A hot argument ensued and ended with a “furious” Abel allegedly stabbing his landlord in the stomach. The man reportedly died at the scene.
“As the confrontation continued, the student stabbed the landlord with a knife, put on his boxers and fled that night, leaving the landlord dead in his room,” the source is quoted to have said.
According to the source, the landlord was not at the facility when Abel’s girl came around. But the facility’s caretaker called the landlord to alert him about the breach of rule.
The incident reportedly took place around 9pm on June 9.
Apparently realising what he had done, Abel – a final year student of the Department of Architecture – ran away. The police are yet to find him.
But Abia State police spokesperson Nta Ogbonnaya said it’s only a matter of time before Abel is arrested.
“I want to advise him that he should submit himself to the police voluntarily,” Ogbonnaya said.
“I assure that wherever he decides to go, we will get him and he will face justice.”.
