NANS leader “attacks student, leaves him in bloody coma”
Falola Ahmed Olasunkanmi reportedly went into coma after he was allegedly attacked by hoodlums.
The said thugs, Olasunkanmi’s friends alleged, were led by one Ogunsola Okiki. He, reportedly, is factional coordinator of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Zone D, Ogun JCC.
They allegedly attacked Olasunkanmi at Ijagun in Ijebu Ode around 5:30pm on April 25.
“They burst in and attacked him,” a friend of his told Newsroom on Wednesday night.
“He was brutalized, hit by gun, knife, axe and was chased into a bush as other comrades were unable to mobilize themselves to save him from the incident.
“The most unfortunate part of it was that the hoodlums were led by Ogunsola Okiki,” he said.
The attack allegedly happened opposite Mikolo Barbing Shop at Ijagun. Attackers also allegedly took his phone and car.
“It was very bloody,” Olasunkanmi’s friend said.
“He’s in coma right now at an undisclosed hospital,” he said, adding that friends needed money to settle Olasunkanmi’s medical bills.
The alleged victim is a student of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED).
Reasons for the alleged attack are unclear at the moment. We gathered Olasunkanmi is now out of coma.
Another friend told Newsroom the matter was reported to Igbeba Police station in Ijebu Ode. We were unable to reach Okiki and the police to comment on this story.
