Mother dumps baby by roadside “due to financial difficulty” in Zambia
Little Purity was found by passersby in Kabwe, Zambia. Her mother, identified only as Ruth, had abandoned her by the roadside with a note to explain her decision.
“I have reached a point where I have to abandon my daughter,” Ruth’s letter read.
“I have not received any support from the father or family. I am a poor person and I hope a good Samaritan will adopt her. Her name is Purity. God bless you.”
Many babies have been found dead in dumps across Africa in recent months, with many being as a result of their mothers’ inability to take adequate care of them due to financial difficulties.
