Monday Tragedy: Shagamu bus crash leaves 7 dead, 17 injured

Seven persons have been confirmed dead while 17 others are said to be injured in a bus crash, Monday afternoon.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. at the Police Area Command junction on Shagamu-Ijebu Ode expressway.

Four men and three women were killed while 11 men and four women survived with vary degrees of injuries. However, three men and one woman escaped unhurt.

“The driver of one of the buses lost control as the vehicle crossed to the other side of the carriage way and collided with an oncoming bus,” an official of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said in a statement.

The survivors are receiving treatment at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital..
