Man burns 13-year-old niece’s body with pressing iron over alleged N3,000 theft
A man identified as Effiong Sunday has landed himself in trouble in Bayelsa State after he allegedly burnt his 13-year-old niece with pressing iron.
Effiong, reports say, committed the crime on Tuesday, when the girl was accused of stealing the N3k from a neighbor.
Despite denying the allegation, Effiong allegedly went ahead to remove her clothes and pressed the hot iron on several parts of her body.
The supposedly stolen money was later found by the neighbour.
Effiong who, according to a witness, didn’t show remorse for the injuries he inflicted on the girl and didn’t bother to take her to the hospital, was eventually apprehended and handed over to the police in Ekeki.
The girl is said to be receiving treatment.
