Man attacks bank premises because “God told him to”

A middle-aged man embarked on a destruction spree, smashing car windshields and glass doors in the premises of a first generation bank in Sango-Ota on Thursday, with claims that God instructed him to carry out the act.

The man, identified as Oyediran Oladipupo, was reported to have caused serious panic among bank customers, who mistook his violent actions for armed robbery.

He also made an attempt to enter the bank but was prevented, prompting the bank’s management to call for policemen from the nearby Sango Area Command.

It wasn’t until the arrival of the policemen, who promptly arrested him, that normalcy returned to the area.
