Man arrested for beating father, family members in Abuja
One Joseph Omonigho was arrested and taken to prison for allegedly beating his father.
A Karmo Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, heard that Joseph, a Kado, Abuja resident, pummeled his father and inflicted injuries on his face.
The father, David Omonigho, had reported the matter to the Life Camp Police Station, Abuja on September 5.
Joseph was charged with a four-count of criminal force, assault, causing hurt and continuance in nuisance.
The prosecutor, Ijeoma Ukagha said Joseph’s father claimed that it was not the first time his son would be beating him and other members of his family.
“Actually, the defendant has refused to heed several warnings from the police,” she said.
Joseph, however, told the court he was not guilty of the offence.
The judge, Inuwa Maiwada, ordered that he should be kept in prison until his hearing on October 3rd 2018.
