GUILTY! Court sentences man to death by hanging for beating banker wife to death in Lagos
The Lagos State High Court has pronounced a death sentence on Lekan Shonde after he was found guilty of killing his wife, Ronke, over infidelity allegations.
Shonde, 51, was said to have beaten the banker to death at their home in Egbeda-Idimu in May 2016.
He had claimed he only slapped her after he heard heard her speaking with one Kayode and telling him sweet words over the phone.
Ronke’s body was found locked in the house by a housekeeper. The couple’s short-lived marriage was blessed with two children.
Justice Josephine Oyefeso sentenced Shonde to death by hanging Friday afternoon.
