LAGOS: Security guards rob boss for delaying salary
Two security guards – Isaac Edet and Kingsley Asuquo – have been arrested by the police in Lagos for allegedly robbing their boss, Prof Joseph Mbadugha.
The suspects, 18 and 19 years old respectively, allegedly robbed Mbadugha for not paying their salary on time.
The lawyer was allegedly attacked in his office at Johnvic Igbanogo Street,Lekki Phase 1 in Lagos State on October 13.
Lagos Police spokesperson, Chike Oti, said, “the command had on Saturday, October 13, 2018, around 5.30pm, received information from a credible source that some bandits held one Joseph Mbadugha hostage in his office at JohnVic Igbanogo Street, Lekki Phase One, Lagos, and that the armed men wore Strongcity Security Services uniform.”
Oti added that after the hoodlums sighted operatives from the Maroko Police Station and F-SARS Ikeja, they fled in different directions. Edet was, however, identified and he led the police to arrest Kingsley.
“They succeeded in dispossessing the victim of a bag containing a laptop, a cash sum of N40,000, three cheque booklets, one iPhone 6. All these items were recovered from the suspects in the course of investigation,” Oti said.
He said the police were on the trail of other members of the gang.
