Father lands in police nest after 2 children are mysteriously found dead in freezer
Two children identified as four-year-old Darasimi and six-year-old Emma were found dead inside a deep freezer in their Ikorodu home on Sunday.
Police authorities confirm that the children’s father, Michael Ede, reported at the station that he woke up to see that Emma and Darasimi were no longer in his bedroom where they slept.
Ede claimed all the apartment’s doors were securely locked, so he couldn’t imagine where the kids could have gone when he woke up to urinate in the middle of the night and he couldn’t find them.
“After searching for them, he found them dead inside the freezer,” Lagos Police spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, said.
Oti confirmed that Ede had been arrested for questioning while the bodies of the children had been deposited into a morgue.
“The corpses have been evacuated to the General Hospital. We are investigating the matter and we have arrested the kids’ father for questioning,” he said.
