Gunmen attack Borno school, abduct students writing SSCE
Gunmen stormed Government Day Secondary School in Lassa, Askira/Uba Local Government Area of Borno State, on Monday, abducting an unspecified number of students during the ongoing Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The students were reportedly sitting for the National Examinations Council (NECO) examination when the attackers invaded the school premises.
Sources said one teacher was killed during the attack, while another sustained injuries.
Confirming the incident, Nahum Daso, spokesperson of the Borno State Police Command, said security agencies are investigating the attack, adding that several students remain unaccounted for.
