Fashola: Hackers take over former Lagos governor's Twitter account, post Japanese tweets
Suspected hackers have taken over the Twitter account of the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola.
Fashola’s media aide, Hakeem Bello, confirmed the hacking on Saturday.
The time stamp on the first Asian tweets posted on the account indicates the suspected hackers accessed the handle at about 11:57 p.m. on Friday.
Links that accompanied the tweets lead to a site presented in Japanese language.
Bello said Fashola’s friends have been calling him all day (Saturday) about the Japanese tweets they thought he was sending out.
The governor now tells the world he was hacked.
Here’s the translation of the tweets posted by the “hackers,”
Fashola, believed to be one of the best Nigerian governors of all time, has not have it good since leaving office.
He has been in the middle of an over-bloated website upgrade “scandal.” He was also said to have awarded two borehole contracts for over N130 million while in office. Experts say N150,000 will sink a standard borehole.
Do these have anything to do with the Twitter hack?
