Eritrea more corrupt than Nigeria – Transparency International

Cancel your flight. The Eritrea story is false.
What’s the point, Eritrea? What’s the point.

Warning: Some readers may find this post annoyingly pointless.

No, this has nothing with the “two wives of jail” policy news coming out of Eritrea.

That story is actually untrue.

Here, we’re talking about the latest edition of Transparency International’s (TI) Corruption Perception Index.

Nigeria ranks 136th among the 167 countries TI ranked. The index was published on Wednesday.

Eritrea has been in the news lately after its reported “two wives or jail” policy which was later found to be untrue. We are aware Nigerians on Twitter helped the East African country trend. We digress again.

Eritrea is ranked 154th. The bigger the number of your ranking, the more corrupt you are. So, we can boldly tell you that Eritrea is more corrupt that Nigeria. Sorry for wasting your precious time.

But before you go, recall Isaias Afwerki, 69, has been president of Eritrea since 1993.

Eritrea also has a population of about 6.3 million people. And Eritrea is more corrupt than Nigeria. Period.
