Nigerian Police said they have arrested one David Usman for reportedly stealing a Hyundai Jeep belonging to the firm he worked for.
Police declined naming the Ado-Ekiti-based firm.
Usman allegedly stole the car from where it was parked in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, and was driving it to Abuja when he was arrested.
Police said its officers intercepted Usman along Jebba Road, in Ilorin, during a stop and search operation on September 5.
“Preliminary inquiry indicates that the driver illegally removed the vehicle from where it was parked by his company and was on his way to Abuja to dispose the vehicle,” the police said in a statement.
“The vehicle was recovered to the station and the suspect was taken into custody,” the police said.
