Five Simple Steps To Apply For Your Passport Online
The Minister Of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Monday, January 8, 2024, launched the new automated passport application system portal.
In an interview with Politics Today on Channels Television, the minister disclosed that citizens can now apply for their passport by visiting the immigration portal, and are only required to visit an immigration office only for biometrics capturing. Also, he noted that the ministry is planning to digitalise the entire application process including capturing of biometrics without any need to visit an immigration office.
“I guarantee you in two months time, you’ll sit at home, do your biometrics, fill your delivery address and we will send it to you Via courier.” Tunji-Ojo said.
While the new application process is set to be effective from March 8 , 2024, here are five steps to enroll for your passport online:
1.Visit https://passport.immigration.gov.ng/
2) Enter your NIN and date of birth.
3) Upload your Passport photograph and other supporting documents.
4) Visit your chosen immigration office for your biometric capture
5) Your passport is ready for collection within 2 weeks.
