EdenLife Launches Lagos Outlet To Bring Healthy Homemade Meals Closer To Residents
Homemade by Eden, a subsidiary of EdenLife, has launched its first Outlet store in Oniru, Lagos, to promote healthy homemade meals to residents of Nigeria’s economic hub. The launch event, which took place at Oniru, Victoria Island, Lagos’, is the first of several outlets that EdenLife plans to launch across the country.
Speaking at the event on Friday, May 10, 2024, Uche Ukonu, Homemade’s Chief of Staff, said that the company’s mission in establishing several outlets is to cater to Nigeria’s diverse food culture, make homemade meals easily accessible to Nigerians, and unify the country’s rich diversity through food. “One of the unifying factors of Africa’s rich diversity is food. We have such a diverse culture, but there’s something that unifies all of us, and that’s food,” he said.
The Nigerian food delivery market, which is projected to achieve a revenue of $2.83 billion by the end of 2024, is a fast-growing sector expected to grow at an annual rate of 15.03 percent to nearly $6 billion by 2029. This growth in Nigeria, a country with a diverse food culture across its over 250 ethnic groups, is partly due to Nigerians’ craving for good meals.
In Lagos, Nigeria’s most populous state, which enjoys the country’s diversity, EdenLife says it wishes to offer Lagosians, homemade meals through its strategically located Outlet stores, which will make online food ordering not just affordable but a fulfilling experience.
However, the food tech company plans to widen its services to Nigerians who might not have the luxury or access to the internet to still enjoy healthy meals. “Part of our mission is accessibility. We know that the food market is largely reliant on the internet, but we understand that internet connection in Nigeria is not at 100 percent. So, to solve that problem, we are launching outlets across Lagos to help make homemade food accessible , so you can walk into any of our Outlet stores to pick up your meal.,” Uche Ukonu said.
Orafiri Adoki, Business Lead of Homemade, added that some of Nigeria’s food culture has not been fully explored. “Nigeria has such a rich culture around food, which has not been explored to its fullest. So, with the launch of the Oniru outlet, we hope to introduce some of the meals Nigerians are used to at home while providing creative and innovative ways to enjoy these meals,” she said.
Adoki noted that the launch is part of a wider plan to launch other outlets across the state, which will bring affordable but quality meals to Nigerians. Launched in April 2019, EdenLife is a Nigerian tech platform for lifestyle services and products that allows people to 10x the quality of their life through quality service and products for life essentials.
