Why Chelsea is Not Among EPL Title Contenders This Season – Thierry Henry

Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, is of the opinion that Chelsea Football Club do not have what it takes to win this year’s English Premier League.

The former goalscorer summed up his disagreement when he appeared on Sky Sports on Tuesday.

According to the Frenchman, Chelsea are yet to defeat any of the big teams around them.

This, he says, is a sign that the London side are not equipped to chase for the Premier League this year.

“Show me you can beat Arsenal, City, Liverpool, they haven’t beaten a big team,” Henry said.

Henry’s opinion strangely rhymes with that of Chelsea Manager, Enzo Maresca, who has repeatedly stated that his side are “not ready for the title.”

Following Chelsea’s 2-1 win over free-scoring Brentford, Maresca was quick to douse expectations of the possibility of Chelsea fighting Liverpool for the league.

Chelsea currently sit 2points behind league leaders, Liverpool, who have a game in hand.

Last season’s runners-up, Arsenal, sit 4 points behind the Blues in 3rd place.

Surprisingly, current holders, Manchester City, are witnessing a miserable run of form that has seen them win only a game in 11 matches as they sit outside of the top 4 spots.
