With an internally generated revenue in the excess of N30 billion monthly, Lagos State is one of the biggest economies in Africa.

Lagos can obviously do more than planting flowers.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode donated N50 million each to Adamawa, Yobe and Borno states in Abuja on Wednesday.

Those northeastern states are worst hit by terrorist Boko Haram. Thousands have been killed; millions, displaced.

These children got new clothes made by IDP tailors.
How much of these funds will get to the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) which caters for over three million internally displaced Nigerians?

“We share in the pain and discomfort of our brothers and sisters,” Ambode said while handing out the bulky cheques.

“The situation is unacceptable, pathetic and desirous of our assistance.
