70-year-old man arrested for raping girl, 16, in Lagos
A 70-year-old man identified as Oshakoya, has landed himself in big trouble for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl at his Bariga, Lagos residence.
Oshakoya was said to have committed the crime on June 18, along with others now at large. The septuagenarian is being tried for rape.
Police prosecutor, Christopher John told the court that the girl went to visit Oshakoya, who is a family friend in his house, but on getting there, he had an unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
He said the girl narrated everything that Oshakoya did to her to her father immediately he returned from work.
“The accused was arrested and handed over to the police,’’ John said.
The Chief magistrate, P. E. Nwaka, remanded Oshakoya in Kirikiri Prison pending advice from the state director of public prosecutions (DPP).
The case has been fixed for July 30 for mention.
