3 family members die as fire engulfs 16 households in Adamawa
The Adamawa Emergency Management Agency has confirmed the death of three persons of one family in a midnight fire, NAN reports.
The incident was disclosed by the Executive Secretary of the agency, Alhaji Haruna Furo, on Friday.
Furo said the fire, which was suspected to be as a result of electrical surge, affected 16 households. Seven persons sustained injuries.
“Three persons of one family have been killed by fire in Kwalinga Ward in Numan local government area,” he said.
“The incident occurred at the midnight of Wednesday and is suspected to be from electricity fault.”
Furo said that the agency has sent its team to sympathise with the bereaved family and assess the level of damage caused by the inferno.
According to him, the residents equally lost property worth millions of naira to the fire.
