Woman returning from a visit to her husband crushed by container in Ogun

A woman, Comfort Adeyemi was killed on Sunday after a container-carrying truck rammed into a vehicle she was in.

The incident occurred in the Arepo area of Ogun State on Sunday, while Comfort was returning from a visit to her husband in Ekiti.

The driver of the vehicle, Taiwo Adeola, said he had parked to check a fault in the car when the truck hit them just as they were about to resume their journey. The impact of the collision caused the container to fall on the car and crush her.

LASEMA boss, Adesina Tiyamiyu said, his team was able to retrieve Comfort’s body.

“We will hand everything over to the police for investigation. We want to remove the vehicle from the road so that it will not cause another accident,” he said.

Police spokesperson in Ogun, Abimbola Oyeyemi said the driver of the truck has been arrested.

“he trailer driver lost control and the container fell on a 30-year-old woman who died on the spot. Her remains had been taken to a mortuary. The driver of the trailer has been arrested and would be charged to court,” Oyeyemi said.
