“We found them!” Nigerian Army locates missing soldiers

The soldiers were deployed after renewed violence in Ikorodu, Lagos.
The soldiers were located Saturday morning, the Army said.

The Nigerian Army has found the soldiers that went missing after troops ran into an ambush in Borno on Tuesday.

Army spokesman, Colonel Sani Kukasheka Usman, revealed this in a statement on Saturday.

In it, he said a Commanding Officer and four other officers were located this morning.

He added that they were moved to the Army’s medical facilities for medicare.

Please recall that some of our troops were missing in action after an ambush at Guro Gongon on 20th July 2016.

Consequently, concerted efforts were initiated to search for and rescue them. The measures include the use of air assets, Special Forces and patrols.

We wish to inform you that the search party has this morning found 5 more officers and soldiers that were declared missing in action, including the unit’s Commanding Officer.

Although they are in a stable condition, have been moved to our Medical facilities for medical care.
