Angry sympathisers have disputed the casualty figures in the tanker explosion incident on Otedola Bridge given by emergency operatives on Thursday.
LASEMA had said 54 vehicles were completely burnt and only nine lives were lost.
Sympathisers, however, told Newsroom that the casualty figure given by emergency operatives was false. Many of them also lamented that the government was not concerned about citizens’ lives by not putting strict measures in place to checkmate operations of tankers and trucks on major roads.
Emergency operatives declined to comment on the allegation to our correspondent.
Evacuation continues on the bridge, leading to heavy traffic on the bridge as at Friday noon.
