WATCH: Police parade alleged killer of former Chief of Defence Staff Alex Badeh
Police say they have arrested two suspects responsible for killing former Chief of Defence Staff, Alex Badeh.
Badeh was killed late last Tuesday on his way from his farm along Abuja-Keffi Road. His killers were said to have taken with them one of the late Air Chief Marshal’s associates but released him days later.
Police paraded one the alleged killers today.
The suspect, Shuaibu, said in his confession that his elder brother Ciroma came from the market and told him that he got intel that old soldier (Badeh) was travelling with money to pay for another piece of land he had just bought.
He said the group schemed a plan to lay ambush for the deceased and collect the money, but the plan went awfully wrong when his driver attempted to drive through the assailants.
Shuaibu said Ciroma opened fire on them immediately, killing Badeh almost instantly. He said they opened the car and made away with the money. He, however, couldn’t confirm the specific amount.
There were suspicions that Badeh was assassinated when news of his death broke last week.
