WATCH: Ganduje commissions projects in Kano amid $5m bribery scandal
October 15, 2018
Kano State governor, Abdullahi Ganduje has been seen for the first time since a video of him allegedly collecting $5 million bribe went viral.
Ganduje, on Monday, appeared unfazed by the allegations as he commissioned a 40 cubic metre walk-in cold room constructed by his administration. The cold room was built to store vaccines for the next 5 years.
Part of the allegations levelled against the governor was that he collects about 15-25% of contracts awarded in the state from contractors.
The state government has rubbished the video evidences as “cloned” and an attempt to blackmail Ganduje.
As a sitting governor, Ganduje is covered by immunity and can only be probed if/when he vacates the seat or is impeached.
