VIDEO: Shocking moment man facing trial for raping and killing 10-year-old girl commits suicide
A man awaiting trial for allegedly raping and killing a 10-year-old girl has committed suicide, Metro UK reports.
Robert Seaman Jr, 48, jumped over a fourth-floor courthouse balcony a day before the commencement of his trial.
He had allegedly raped the little girl, Corrine Gump, before setting fire to her family home, causing the deaths of the girl and her grandparents in March 2015.
Burns were found on Robert’s body after his arrest.
He was on his way from a courtroom with accompanying officers when he suddenly jumped to his death.
“He was talking about the future of his trial, and he just decided to jump,” a Sheriff, Jerry Greene, said.
Robert could have faced a death penalty if found guilty of the crime.
